A friend recently borrowed our snowshoes, so I went to pick them up yesterday. Well, she also had a question for me... "Would you be able to fix my curtains?"
Her dog had tugged at them, so the tabs had ripped off.
Of course, I was more than willing to help her out, so I took the curtains home with me. I pinned them back to where they belonged, and straight stitched across each one.
Moral of the story: if you have a dog that stays inside (hers was a black lab), then you might consider investing in a sewing machine :)
