Injury Update

The previous post describes how Neighbor and Grizz both were injured while skiing/snowboarding.

Good news is that Grizz is starting to (painfully) walk around some. This has improved since having to army crawl on Saturday night. We went to the walk-in clinic this morning (there was no way we were going to get him down our stairs yesterday). Got an X-ray - everything looked in alignment and there was plenty of space between vertebrae (we were worried a disc was out of place... you can't see the discs on an X-ray, but because all the vertebrae were evenly spaced and straight, Doc didn't think any discs would have popped out). Thus, its probably all muscle and inflammation. We got some prescription meds and she upped Grizz's ibuprofen intake. Hopefully the pain will be completely gone in 3-5 days. After that, we start a core/lower back strengthening routine. We don't want this to happen again! Especially if we continue adventuring into the wilderness :)

As for Neighbor, she went to the clinic yesterday. X-ray looked good, but she'll go in on Thursday. If it's still painful then, I think she'll get an MRI. Until then, she gets lots of ice, ibuprofen, and practice with crutches. Good stuff.

Just keepin' on, keepin' on. Prayers and praises!

PS: With Neighbor and Grizz stuck to the couches, I've been able to work on my cooking - chili, cornbread, bread machine bread, and a chicken marinara experiment. So far, everything has been edible. Still working on non-crumbly cornbread, and today I stocked up on bread machine flour. I didn't have enough yesterday, so bread wasn't as good as I'd like it to be.
Also, I've gotten stuff around the house down - Christmas totes went back to the garage, five loads of laundry and done and put away, and I've been able to be crafty/sewy! Woot.
