First Supper and Game Night

I've been lucky enough to move to a town that my husband has lived in for almost a year... he already has friends! We had several over last night for our first supper and game night together.

What did we make? A Japanese stir fry! It has a specific name, but I can't spell it...

Sauce: 1 1/2 c. water, 1/4 c. soy sauce, 1/4 c. brown sugar, 2-3 beef boullian cubes, pinch of ground ginger
Heat until the cubes have dissolved.

When ready almost ready to serve, put the following into a large skillet...
Steak - either cut into cubes or strips
Rice noodles (soak in water for an hour before this step)
Broccoli
Carrots (finely, finely chopped)
Snap peas
Mushrooms
Spinach
Anything else you think would go well in a stir fry :)

Pour the sauce over it all and watch cook! Make sure you keep moving it all around so the steak gets nicely browned.

We also served rice, but it is an optional addition.

Desert? An ice cream cake!
Prepare and bake a brownie mix... let it cool... spread some ice cream topping fudge... spread Cookies 'n' Cream ice cream over that... then spread whipped topping. Store in the freezer until serving. Simple simple! Try it with different ice creams and toppings :)

Games after... several hadn't played "Taboo" before... very fun! We look forward to more get-togethers soon!
